Starting a Session
You begin a Session from the Next Session card on your Dashboard, or by opening the Session from your schedule. Braintrust Tutoring Sessions run in Lessonspace, the online classroom, which opens right in the platform.
Begin Session
On the Next Session card, click Begin Session to open the Session. If you’d already started and stepped away, the button reads Rejoin Session instead. The button is inactive until 5 minutes before the start time.
The 5-Minute Auto-Start
Once you’re on the Session page, the Session starts automatically 5 minutes before its scheduled time - you don’t have to do anything else to launch it. Until then you’re in a short waiting room. This is also why you can’t get into the room earlier than 5 minutes before.
If a Session Has No Content Yet
A Session needs a lesson (or assessment) before it can start. The platform normally sets this for you - see How Content Gets Assigned to Your Sessions. Once content is in place, the Session auto-starts 5 minutes before its scheduled time.
