Launching an Activity
Activities are the graded practice built into each lesson - the steps marked with a pencil in the lesson plan and on the teaching slides. You don’t assign them separately: they come with the lesson, and you launch each one from the Resource Drawer when the lesson gets to it. Students answer on their own devices and the platform scores the work.
Where Activities Live
Once a lesson is assigned to the Session (see Assigning a Lesson), the Resource Drawer shows an Activities tab. It lists the lesson and the students assigned to it, an Activity dropdown with every activity in the lesson, and a Launch for Students button.
Below the dropdown, Suggested next step names the activity the platform expects you to run next - the first one on a lesson’s first Session, the next one in order when a lesson carried over, or the new-material step on a reteach. It’s a suggestion; pick a different one in the dropdown if you need to.
Launching for Students
- On the Activities tab, choose the activity in the Activity dropdown (or leave the suggested one).
- Click Launch for Students.
- In the form that opens, the students assigned to the lesson are already selected. Remove anyone who shouldn’t get it, then click Launch.
Each student’s screen opens to the activity’s first question. You don’t need to tell them where to go.
Launch every activity the lesson calls for, in order - the platform scores what students do, but it doesn’t run an activity you skip, and a skipped step leaves a hole in the student’s record.
Watching the Results
As students answer, their results appear below the launch button, one row per student, the same way assessment results do - see Reading Assessment Results for the columns. Each question allows two attempts, so a student who gets it on the second try is a different signal from one who got it first time. Scoring is automatic; you never mark anything yourself.
