Quick Answers

Short answers to common questions. Where there’s more to know, the link takes you to the full article.

Students and Groups

A student’s name is wrong in my group. Tutors can’t edit student names - reach out to your Braintrust team and they’ll correct it. See Reading Your Student Roster.

A student joined late or left early - are they present or absent? Present. A student who joined at all is marked Attended; there’s no partial option. See Tracking Attendance.

Sessions

I taught the Session but can’t set it to Finished. Finished needs attendance recorded first - mark attendance on the group’s Weekly Progress tab, then try again. If it’s already marked No Show, ask your Braintrust team to correct it. See Wrapping Up a Session.

Which status do I use when the school moved or cancelled the Session? Canceled. See Wrapping Up a Session.

How do I get the teaching slides in their own tab? During a Session, click the material’s link on the Session Agenda tab - it opens in a new tab. See Opening Lesson Materials in a New Tab.

How do students get to a game on their own device? Online, paste the game’s link into the Lessonspace chat and they choose Solo Play. In person, they play from your screen. See Launching a Game.

How do I assign or launch an activity? Activities come with the lesson. On the Resource Drawer’s Activities tab, pick the activity (or keep the suggested next step) and click Launch for Students. See Launching an Activity.

How do I launch an assessment for my students? An assigned assessment has its own tab in the Resource Drawer with a Launch for Students button. Each student’s screen opens to a title screen with the assessment’s name, and they click Start to begin. The How to Teach guides under Curriculum walk through running one. See In-Session Tools.
