In-Person Sessions
Most of this Help Center applies to every Session, online or in person. This article covers the parts that work differently when you and your students are in the same room.
What’s Different
- There’s no Lessonspace room. An in-person Session doesn’t open an online classroom. Once the Session is in progress, the Resource Drawer fills your screen instead, with the same contents you’d have online: the Session Agenda, lesson materials, any assigned assessment, and the Tools button. - No chat. Anything you’d normally paste into the Lessonspace chat, such as a game link, you show on your screen instead. See Launching a Game.
What’s the Same
- Starting the Session. You open it from your Dashboard the same way. See Starting a Session.
- Students on their own devices. Students sign in on their own devices and work through the assessments and activities you launch, just as they would online. See Student Sign-In.
- Lessons and assessments. Assigning a lesson, switching lessons mid-Session, and following assessment progress all work the same from the Resource Drawer. An assigned assessment has its own tab with a Launch for Students button; the How to Teach guides under Curriculum walk through running one.
- Wrapping up. Session status and the Weekly Progress Report work the same. Attendance fills in from who signed in or answered activity questions on their device - see Tracking Attendance.
